Sandton Residence
Crafted with meticulous attention to detail, the design of this private family residence emanates an air of quiet luxury. Every surface, every material, every spatial relationship was considered to create an environment where contemporary sophistication meets the warmth of home.
Extremely restrained to exude an air of refined luxury, the kitchen boasts stone countertops imported from Italy, custom brass hardware, and integrated lighting that transforms the space throughout the day. Adjacent to the kitchen, a charming breakfast nook overlooks the garden, creating an intimate setting for morning rituals and shared family moments.
The master suite occupies the entire upper east wing, featuring floor-to-ceiling windows that frame panoramic views of the Sandton skyline. A bespoke dressing room connects to a spa-inspired bathroom clad in Calacatta marble, with a freestanding copper bathtub as its centrepiece.
Design Approach
The interior design follows a philosophy of curated restraint. Natural materials, muted earth tones, and considered negative space allow each element to breathe and be appreciated on its own terms. African art pieces are woven throughout the home, creating a dialogue between heritage and modernity.
Materials & Palette
The material palette draws from the African landscape: warm sandstone, burnished brass, natural oak, and hand-finished plaster walls. Textiles include hand-woven linens, mohair from the Eastern Cape, and silk velvet accent pieces that add layers of tactile richness.
